Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute will receive $5,000 from Time Warner Cable as part of a national contest, with potential for another $10,000.

The award comes along with recognition for HWI’s William Duax, Ph.D., who was named local winner for Time Warner’s Super Connector Search contest.

Duax, a scientist at HWI and professor of the department of structural biology at the University at Buffalo, has led Hauptman-Woodward’s high school program for five years.
